Celebrating Growth: A Birthday Reflection on Strength, Faith, and Purpose

I would first like to say HAPPY HEAVENLY (BELATED) BIRTHDAY to my mama who would have been 63 yesterday. Love you, mama. I know you’re enjoying your birthday up there.

Marking Milestones with Gratitude

My birthday is this Friday, Jul 31 and its always a time of reflection for me, a time of growth. As July comes to a close, I pause to reflect — because milestones invite gratitude.

“Thus far the Lord has helped us.” — 1 Samuel 7:12

Growth Looks Different Than I Expected

Strength didn’t come overnight. Confidence didn’t appear all at once. Ministry unfolded slowly, faithfully, and often quietly.

God used:

  • Consistent obedience

  • Small beginnings

  • Community

  • Movement rooted in worship

To build something far greater than I imagined.

What This Season Has Taught Me:

1. Strength is built through surrender.Letting God lead changed everything.

2. Obedience compounds. A small “yes” has created astronomical growth and movement in my life and create a lasting impact.

3. Community matters deeply. Sisterhood sustains growth.

4. Joy is a sign you’re aligned. Although it is not always easy, God’s calling doesn’t drain — it strengthens.

“The Lord will perfect that which concerns me.” — Psalm 138:8

This ministry exists because God transforms lives — including mine. If you’re in a season of waiting, growing, or becoming, know this: God is not done.

As I celebrate another year of life, I invite you to celebrate your own growth — wherever you are. Join us at Dance With GracefullyLis and be part of a community where growth, faith, and movement are celebrated together.
